If you load a FIT or GPX route from RideWithGPS to your Garmin Edge, you will likely only see the POI (if defined) on the map only. And you will not know how long you still have to pedal to get there and you will not get a message when you pass by.
The executable allows to modify the .fit file in a format that can better read by Garmin Edge devices, creating a separate screen with all the POIs, remaining distance to them and estimated time. In addition, you also get a notification as soon as you pass by the POI. It only makes sense to use this if the route has some POIs.
To obtain the converted .fit file, follow these steps:
You can put more than two files in the folder and the tool will automatically convert all of them. However, don't forget that each route must be provided both in GPX and FIT format. The tool should filter out all the files that are not .gpx or .fit so in theory you can also have other files in the folder, but if you keep it clean from other useless stuff is not a bad idea!
Please make sure to have JAVA installed to have the script successfully run.
